A women crying has been known as a turn-off towards men. And it has been recently proven that this opinion is a fact. Human tears contain a substance called pheromones, which influence behavior through smell. Although tears are orderless, the element still affects cells in the body by reacting through the scent sense. During studies, men found women less attractive after sniffing a sample of female tears. Several men had "reduced brain cell activity in areas that previously reacted strongly to an erotic, R-rated movie" (Bower). Slow breathing rate and lack of endorphins relating to the male sex hormone, testosterone were psychological signs of a reduced sexual awareness. Tears are physical indications of a persons emotional ordeal. Women are more sensitive then men and are much more likely to cry at a sad movie or such. Therefore there have been more opportunities to observe the emotional symptoms of women, however the Weizmann Institute of Science is eager to do more research involving men and children into their studies as well.
